Heta Architects is seeking an experienced senior associate architect to join its team in London.

We are a studio of architects, designers, and thinkers, who look beyond the physical to design truly sustainable buildings, communities and cities. We offer ‘big practice’ experience within an agile studio setting and work with a diverse range of collaborators and experts from the creative and digital sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious associate/ senior architect that has experience in business development and can help establish and win new work for the studio and oversee a team across multiple projects. Experience in client engagement, developing sectors and winning new work is essential for someone that wants to step into a leadership role in our London studio. You will be working directly with the directors and our other associates on the growth and development of the business, managing the London team, client facing, designing in collaboration with our creative director, be an industry facing thought leader, driving innovation and winning repeat work through best-in-class design. Heta has an existing client base, and we will be expecting you to continue growing our relationships with them whilst helping to bring in new clients and opportunities.



  • Ideally a qualified architect, 5yrs post qualification, (UK ARB accreditation preferred) With at least eight plus years’ experience working in practice.

  • Proven track record in winning new work, client engagement and networking.

  • Proven track record in running projects and teams.

  • Proven experience as a design leader, creator and innovator.

  • Experience leading bids, tenders, pitches and competitions.

  • Experience within architecture, urban design and master planning across multiple sectors and regions.

  • Experience taking projects from inception through design, technical stages and to completion.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience taking projects through planning in UK.

  • Experience working internationally. 

  • Knowledge of mixed-use sectors (e.g. hospitality, residential, commercial, masterplanning)

  • Strong design ethos and keen to foster a strong design culture.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills to win new business in UK and Internationally.

  • Knowledge of the UK and some International architecture and construction markets essential.

  • Strong network with an enthusiasm to engage with clients and an industry network.

  • Experience taking design through to technical stages and delivery 

  • Strengths and experience in practice management processes to contribute to and drive a business forward.

  • Demonstrate good client-facing communication skills, to maintain repeat clients and develop new client relationships.



  • International mindset / open to new cultures and ways of working.

  • Hunger to inspire and lead, whilst being a team player.

  • Be able to work in the London studio, with potential for some hybrid working within reason.

  • Have the right to work and be UK tax resident.

  • Have an added passion or focus (what’s your interest tech, environmental, wellness, BIM, urban design).



We offer a hybrid working scheme for the team, you will be able to work remotely for some days to be agreed with leadership team, with an expectation to be in the studio regularly to manage teams and deliver projects as required.
