The restored Millennium Mills will be a new hybrid urban farm for agricultural innovation and healthy waterfront living – a landmark building for Silvertown Quays’ transformation to a digi-tech and green enterprise hub.

Initial feasibility as part of 'Fortune Vision for Vertical Farm' competition, Honourable mention.

Our urban re-use concept will retain the majority of the former flour mill’s structure. The mill will reclaim its role in feeding different urban communities and support their participation in the sustainable growth, production and consumption of food.

This new living typology will empower people to truly harness the benefits of co-existing in a deep, impactful way with plants. Living within a community on new urban agriculture setting

Co-working spaces will be given to ‘AgriTech’ start-ups to explore new ideas and technologies for more efficient and autonomous farming. Alongside interactive training and education hubs, that act as exemptions for innovations in urban agriculture.

A Farmers Market and restaurant that showcase site-grown crops will engage local businesses, residents and visitors with circular economy principles, such as waste diversion, sustainable packaging and energy re-use. The re-activated waterfront will also encourage active lifestyles through water themed sport and leisure.

Our design exploits the mill’s riverside location, creating a permeable series of waterways to irrigate the farming ecosystem.Markets and gardens sit alongside lush, thriving waterways that facilitate transport for loading and deliveries. Fish bioproducts become plant nutrients and biofiltration is used to clean the water.
